New Kuga
New Kuga
The new Ford Kuga on show at Geneva
The new Ford Kuga was on display at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. It’s Ford’s first ‘crossover’ vehicle and delivers a blend of rewarding on-road driving quality and astonishing off-road capability.

Personality and presence
The fresh, modern styling of the Ford Kuga is based on Ford’s C-car architecture, well proven in both the Ford Focus and the Ford C-MAX. Its ‘can-do’ persona and ‘go anywhere’ ability is perfect for anyone looking for something a bit different. Available with a proven powertrain and two series levels, the full-time Haldex intelligent AWD system is complemented by a front-wheel-drive version.

A choice of series
You can choose from two distinct series: the Trend is well-equipped, cool and colourful and the Titanium has a modern, techno premium-feel. Both series offer a wide range of equipment, technology and styling options. Dedicated Packs provide additional protection, transport, stowage, styling and aftersales products.

Power and performance
The Kuga offers a 2.0-litre Duratorq TDCi 136 PS 100 kW engine with six-speed manual transmission. The torque, performance and pulling power under all engine and load conditions have been perfectly calibrated. Both the FWD and intelligent AWD variants return impressive fuel economy of 6.3 and 6.4 litres of fuel per 100 km respectively, using the combined fuel consumption figures. Environmentally, the intelligent AWD figure of 169 g/km of CO2 is class-leading.

Safety first
The stiff, rigid passenger cell is designed to resist deformation and the Kuga includes a host of active, passive and dedicated pedestrian safety features. New driver assistance technologies include the Electronic Stability Programme with combined Anti Rollover Mitigation, plus ABS with Electronic Brake force Distribution.

Finished to perfection
A carefully selected palette of 10 body colours is available, including new metallic ‘Chill’, ‘Frozen White’ and ‘Electric White’ – the latter a first for a Ford. The eye-catching and lavish interior incorporates fine leathers and gloss finishes. Colour-matched details of the interior design and integrated trim colours highlight the instrument panel and door trims, creating a unified, premium and sporty look.

Spacious
Kuga offers comfortable seating for up to five adults. The second row seating has a 60:40 split and has been designed to fold flat to maximise available loadspace in two-seat mode. There’s underseat stowage beneath the second row, with further stowage under the floor of the luggage compartment area, divided into compartments for maximum flexibility.
