Make careful entries for weather conditions and the exact time and place of the accident. State the distance and direction the various parties where travelling in when the accident occurred. Often the clearest and easiest way of describing an accident scene is by making a simple line drawing. Indicate the positions of the vehicles before and after the incident, with arrows to show the direction of travel, as well as the approximate distance between cars and their relationship to the nearest road junctions and signs.
